Throughout the month of May the teachers at Bear Park Kohimarama organized an art exhibition to raise money in support of “KidsCan”.
Prior to inviting the children to contribute art works to the exhibition, we shared with them the vision of KidsCan and the concept of fundraising. By enlightening the children on what “KidsCan” is, they were able to develop an understanding around how they too can contribute to this worthy cause and support disadvantaged children to reach their potential.
Each child in the centre spent time creating a piece that was then displayed on panels within the foyer for all to see. The children were exited to share their artwork with the families and there was a huge sense of pride that went along with this.
Parents were invited to purchase the pieces through making a donation, and from this exhibition Bear Park Kohimarama raised a total of $160.00.
