At the end of a quiet Mt Eden cul-de-sac, birdsong drifts down from tall Puriri trees. Large open-plan spaces, a sustainable garden and a teaching team who genuinely follow each child's lead.
Collaborative spaces
Both the infant-toddler centre and the preschool inhabit large open-plan spaces designed for collaboration. Children are encouraged to dig deep into their interests, with classrooms stocked to support creative thinking and discovery.
A multilingual community
Mt Eden's welcoming environment embraces the diversity of its children, whānau and wider community. Every child's identity and cultural background is celebrated as part of the daily life of the centre.

Questions parents ask
Good to ask, before you visit.
More teachers in the room make it possible for kaiako to really listen. At Bear Park Mt Eden we keep our ratios well above the minimum so educators have the time and space to follow each child's lead, document their learning deeply, and build relationships that matter. In our infant rooms, staffing is at its most generous so babies receive calm, consistent, attentive care.
Bear Park Mt Eden is a team of kaiako committed to their own ongoing learning as much as their tamariki's. At least 80% hold an ECE or Primary teaching qualification at NZQA Level 7 or above, and are registered with the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand. Our Centre Director brings extensive ECE sector experience, and every teacher is mentored by our Curriculum and Operations team to ensure well-rounded, tailored teaching practice.
Bear Park Mt Eden is open to tamariki from 3 months old through to 5 years. We offer continuity of care so children don't need to move settings as they grow.
Current fee schedules can be requested from the Centre Director.
Bear Park early learning centres offer the New Zealand Government's 20 Hours ECE subsidy. The scheme allows Bear Park to subsidise fees for up to 20 hours of early childhood education per week for children aged three to five.
Bear Park Mt Eden is at 32 Akiraho Street, Mt Eden, Auckland 1024. Maungawhau Station on the City Rail Link is a 5 minute walk, with direct connections to Britomart and the CBD, and Mt Eden village is a 4 minute drive. Open Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 6.00pm. Nearby suburbs: Sandringham, Balmoral, Kingsland, Three Kings, Dominion Road.
