Our Centre
Our Remuera centre was purpose-built to represent a symphony of beautiful learning spaces. From our spacious outdoor areas to our central piazza, we’ve created an environment that is natural, transparent and inspiring for all.
Our teaching staff is passionate, creative and dedicated. Our expansive outdoor areas and open light-filled rooms create a seamless environment for each child with endless investigative learning possibilities. We focus on the many expressive languages that children use and develop throughout their early years, with our performing arts room and central and classroom ateliers encouraging children to engage in the art of dance, drama, music, art and more. We believe that through offering these various opportunities of expression and communication our children develop a stronger sense of self-worth.
As with every Bear Park centre, we endeavour to always acknowledge our parents and whānau to build a strong sense of community. For whānau, we have dedicated spaces to sit and dialogue with teachers and other parents. For all, our central piazza acts as the centre’s hub: a place to engage and participate, where relationships and connections can be reaffirmed and developed.
A Strong Sense of Sustainability
Building a sustainable, eco-friendly centre has always been an important vision to Bear Park – an aim we put into action with the creation of our Remuera site.
Our Future
We are committed to nurturing a sustainable future. Recently, we’ve started hosting our own beehive and have put in our own composting system in place.
Our Building
Our centre was built to embody our natural and bi-cultural heritage using a predominance of wooden, natural and recycled resources throughout.
Our Community
Our children develop strong connections with their local community through regular visits to our nearby Ohinerau (Mount Hobson).
